Malawi expel two players for breaking curfew: Sneaked to Chez Ntemba for clubbing

Malawi national team coaching panel has sacked two key players  Dave and Frank Banda

fro breaking training camp rule after they reportedly sneaked out and spend some good time at Chez Ntemba international night club in Blantyre on Sunday night, Nyasa Times can reveal.

The two were spotted by some fun-seekers who later reported the matter to the team officials.

Flames team manager Stuart Mbolembole confirmed the development but could not be drawn to further comment on the matter.

Nyasa Timesunderstands that Frank Banda who plays for a local club Silver Strikers was indeed back to his base in the capital city Lilongwe.

In a telephone interview, Banda confirmed he had left camp but refused to comment further.

“I am out of camp,” he said. Pressed to comment on the reports of being expelled, he responded: “I reserve my right to not to comment.”

In a case of similar nature, Flames coach previously completely banned Big Bullets captain and former Black Leopards star Fischer Kondowe from national team activities due to the same behaviour of sneaking out of camp which was labelled indiscipline.

Malawi national team is currently in camp in readiness for the CECAFA tournament to be staged in Uganda later this month.
