Nyirenda: Salutes Zambia's Chipolopolo

A statement from FAM signed by Chief Executive Officer Suzgo Nyirenda says:”The President, executive commitee, affiliates and the secretariat of FAM would like to congratulate the Zambian national team, the FAZ president, executive committee and the secretariat for winning the 2012 African Cup of Nations which was co hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea”.

The statement says FAM has since sent a letter congratulating the Chipolopolo boys for the success.

“This has given FAM hope that in football, success can be achieved if you are committed, dedicated, have good tactics and are hard working. Zambia who are our brothers have given us the courage that you do not have to fear names but have self belief,” Nyirenda says in the statement.

It continues to say Zambia’s victory has sent a strong message to the continent that football is now in southern Africa.
