Malawi finishes year at 94 in FIFA ranking

Malawi national football team aka the Flames has suffered a fresh ranking blow in the Coca-cola Fifa world rankings as the team has dropped seven slots to 94 in the latest chart released on Wednesday.

Flames perfomed badly during this year’s Cecafa Cup in Tanzania after winning only one match against Kenya, two draws to Ethiopia and Sudan before loosing to Tanzania.

In Africa, the team is behind the likes of Uganda, Guinea, Zambia, Cape Verde Islands and South Africa on number 21.

Ivory Coast remained African’s top team at number 16 in the World.

The top five for African teams is as follows Ivory Coast, Ghana, Algeria, Egypt and Nigeria.

In the world, Spain remains the number one team followed by Netherlands, Germany, Uruguay and England.
