Malawi Food Lovers in summer carnival promotion

Food Lovers Market is running a week long Food Lovers Summer Carnival Promotion which has seen most products especially fresh fruit and vegetables prices slashed.

Chiku Kaphuka, the markerting Manager for PTC – Food Lovers Market

Peoples Trading Centre (PTC), a subsidiary of conglomerate Press Corporation Limited (PCL) plc is running Food Lovers Market under its franchise with Spar.

PTC marketing and Communications Manager Chiku Kaphuka said in an interview yesterday that the carnival promotion started on Monday and will close on Sunday 4th February 2018 at Food Lovers Market in Lilongwe.

“Food Lovers Summer Carnival Promotion is the biggest promotion of the year and is timed to coincide with when summer fruit is at its most abundant and cheapest.”

“The Carnival runs for one week starting on Monday 29th January and finishing on Sunday 4th February in both South Africa and all participating countries. In SA stores this is a bigger sales week than Christmas getting some great momentum going in the new calendar year,” said Kaphuka.

She said as a result most lines in each department are reduced namely fruit and vegetables, fresh produce, Butchery, Bakery, cheese and assorted grocery items.

Kaphuka said Food Lovers market is supporting local farmers who are supplying them with fresh produce.

“We have local farmers like Tithokoze Farm among others supplying us regularly with their fresh produce and we encourage more to come forward so long there’s quality and consistency,” said Kaphuka.

She said Food Lovers Market Malawi has been doing well since it opened its doors in the country on 15th December 2016.
