Malawi gets financial boost towards rural growth centers initiative
Malawi government has announced that it has received financial assistant from the African Development Bank to help the country towards its Local Economic Development project.
In a statement, government authorities say they will use part of the money in rolling out telecommunication projects in most of the under-served rural areas.
It is therefore seeking the services of contractors to provide internet services to Business Support Units and tele-centers in rural growth centers.

“The objective of the assignment is to provide internet services that will help local populous access to useful l information that will support the needs of local businesses.
“Further to this the internet will facilitate better communications between the Business Service unit (BSUs) as well as tele centers and other relevant institutions,” reads the statement.
They say the areas that need the internet services are in Jenda in Mzimba district, Malomo in Ntchisi district Monkey bay in Mangochi and Chitekesa in Phalombe.
“The service will be such that each centre will be treated as a fully fledged, internet hotspot. All interested parties are therefore requested to visit the areas indicated and ensure that they appreciate the requirement,” said the statement.
