Malawi golf society UK holds first championship

Hendrikse was the winner with an impressive score of 34 points.

Although attendance to the event was less than expected, the show went ahead and produced some interesting running battles in the field.

At after the front 9, three players scores were level.  On the last hole, it was a two-horse race between Hendrikse and Gareeb Osman.  Hendrikse held his nerve with a 25 foot putt which sealed the victory.

Hendrikes also collected the prizes of Longest Drive with a 310 yard drive, and nearest to pin challenge from the Communications and Media Secretary Martha Storey Nkhoma.

The Society also took the opportunity to elect an interim Committee as follows:

Vice Chairman and Marketing:  Chauncy Gondwe

Committee Members:  Michael Gladstone, Robert Hendrikse, Rohan Mahomed.
