Malawi in need of true agents of change—Rev Kawalala

Malawi is in need of leaders who will be true agents of the change that integrates their fundamental values with ethical business conduct, leading to beneficial permanence in society, Reverend Zacc Kawalala has said.

Kawalala is quoted in the local press speaking as general overseer of Dynamic Leaders and Gatekeepers Forum (DLGF, saying there is “a leadership bankruptcy” in Malawi.

He said moral decay, erosion in ethics and social misconduct among Malawians are a display of leadership bankruptcy.

“There is a general consensus that there is a leadership bankruptcy in our country. We have organised this forum to bring a birthing of such in the various sectors of our nation,” said Kawalala as quoted by The Nation.

According to the report, the remarks comes as  the group is set to hold the second  leadership forum scheduled from May 27-28  2016 in Lilongwe designed to raise Godly leaders in the professional workplace with a passion to make a difference.

Hmmm…I see no signs that such enlightened potential leaders are to be found. We would have heard their voices by now!

True agents of change should start from the church. Transformative leaders should also start from the church because we regard the church as one of the most important institutions in society. If there is transformative leadership in church, it will grow and not just poach people from other churches. Ka church kongokhala ku Blantyre and Lilongwe basi for 20 decades. Was that the vision of the founder of the church-Babra Tippet?
