According to the facilitator of the remix in Malawi, journalist cum rapper Harold Kapindu aka K-Bonnie, DJ Switch has already given a go ahead.

“The main aim is to connect Malawi to the South Africa music scene. By doing this remix, we will introduce Malawian artists to the South African industry. “Now or never” is currently one of the biggest songs in South Africa and we want to capitalize on that.

“The selection criterion for Malawi rappers will be based on merit to impress or perhaps outshine our South African counterparts. We are looking for 10 to 12 rappers from across Malawi. Rappers should be calm; they will be notified when they have been selected,” K-Bonnie disclosed.

“Now or never” is a song which questions the current state of Hip Hop with the popular line which has been trending “What happened to Rap? Rappers used to drop bars now we just dab”.

The original version features Proverb, Reason, Kwesta and Shane Eagle, it was produced by Ganja Beats.

The South Africa remix features veterans Prokid and Proverbs, it also features Zakwe, Blacklez, Gingerbread and rookie Bigstar Johnson winner of the first reality Hip Hop TV Show “The Hustle”.

Malawi will be the next country to jump on the remix after South Africa. The Malawi remix will be out next month, date to be confirmed, according to the facilitator.

Meanwhile, DJ Switch and Gemini Major have already started tweeting about the remix.

Gemini tweeted: “Well #MalawiNowOrNeverRemix ,shout outs to @DjSwitchSA ..Definately gotta get @Classick_iAm @Engolah on it ,,Malawian rappers let’s!!!”, and DJ Switch replied: “#NowOrNeverRemix continental drift!!!.”
