Malawi leader demanding accountability from ministers

Malawi President Joyce Banda is demanding accountability from her ministers asking them  to submit  reports on achievements and progress in each ministry starting from next week.

The former president, the late Bingu wa Mutharika, also demanded reports from his ministers.

In a memo dated November 20 2012 from Secretary to Government Bright Msaka addressed to all ministers, deputies and principal secretaries obtained by Nyasa Times, President Banda will start receiving the reports from next week.

Msaka advises: “Ministers should therefore prepare comprehensive reports for presentation to the President and the Committee when called upon to do so,”

The reports are expected to be based on achievements and progress in implementing and fulfilling the mandates of the ministries of moving forward the national development agenda and providing services to the Malawi public.
