Malawi mob kill 2 eldely women over money, witchcraft
Unknown killers have murdered an elderly woman in Salima soon after she obtained money from a village bank amounting to K113000.
Robert Mkwezalamba, chairperson of National Advocacy Platform, a grouping of civil society groups has since asked the police to apprehend the suspects.
“Everyone has a right to life, everyone has a right to economic activity,” said Mkwezalamba.
He said Gogo Chihana, the slain elderly woman was alone in her house when the thugs broke the house and attacked her before going away with the money.

Gogo Chihana hailed from Saidi village in chief Ndindi’s area in Salima.
In Blantyre, an elderly woman has been killed by a mob after she was accused of bewitching her grand daughter.
Blantyre police spokesperson Andrew Mayao said Ida Ntwana, 73 was stoned to death in Mbale village, chief Nsomba’s area in Blantyre.
However, Mayao says a death report from Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital shows the grand daughter died of natural causes.
