Malawi netballer Mwawi thanks mates for Australia MVP award

Malawi’s netball professional Mwawi Kumwenda has said  the support she has received from her team mate sin Australia and the coach  has been key to the way she has taken to life and scooping Australia Netball League Most Valuable Player.

The Malawi Queens towering goal shooter is delighted with the backing she has received from  her Australian team Peninsula Waves and remains determined to keep making them happy.

For the MVP award, Mwawi has pocketed US$ 1,000 after starring in the the Victoria Fury squad—a star studded side.

“Thanks God. Congratulations girls for winning this tough competition! I enjoyed playing with you all. Thanks all coaches for teaching us lots of skills. Thanks so much to all you girls because I couldn’t win the MVP without you. I love you all may God bless you all,” she posted in her Facebook Timeline.

Mwawi joined Waves in 2010 from Diamonds, formerly Escom Sisters, after a protracted deal. The Australian side spotted Mwawi during the 2009 Cook Islands World Youth Championship and since her arrival the team has been impressing.

In 2010 Waves finished last on the 12 team log table before the side finished seventh in 2011 and last year the team finished fourth before climbing to second on the ladder this season.
