Malawi News Agency to be online , says Director of Information

Malawi News Agency (Mana) will be launching a website to enhance people get informed on development programmes of the country.

Speaking Wednesday, during testing presentation in Lilongwe Director of Information and Civic Education, Isaac Ziba explained that the website would give Malawians an opportunity to read stories anytime they wanted, saying this would create a platform for the citizenry to keep abreast of what is happening both locally and internationally.

“The website will give Malawians and the world at large an opportunity to know development projects that government is undertaking as well as other important issues,” Ziba said.

Ziba further explained that the development is one of the many that Ministry of Information and Civic Education will undertake in order to meet the demand of people as government’s information dissemination medium. He said the official launch of the website will be on August 1, 2012.

“The launch of website is one of the big things we have planned to put in place in order to successfully inform and educate the public on topical issues deemed important,” he added.

Mana was officially established in 1966 to disseminate government information. It also gathers news across the country.
