My skill in mathematics was never very good, but I think Malawi’s entire tax revenue is about MK70 billion per year. Voice Mhone’s estimate of Malawi NGOs’ income is at least MK500 billion. This suggests to my ill-educated mind that NGOs perform more than seven times MORE of the functions of government in Malawi (health, education, poor relief, police etc) than the Malawi government does itself!
NGOs are not answerable to the Malawian taxpayers but only to the foreign donors which support them. Is this a very dangerous situation or should I go back to school?

What bull-shit! What are NGOs doing with all that money in this country? For goodness sake, what improvements have they made in people’s life? Have they built hospitals, roads, schools and paid the salaries of teachers, doctors? NGOs or rather CSOs are just another racket full of thieves.
