Malawi Parliament adjourned sine die without finalising Zambia maize import report, pass K1.1trillion budget

Malawi Parlaiment was on Thursday  adjourned sine die  ( with no appointed date for continuation of business) after members approved the Mid-Year Budget review  but  failed to conclude  the debate on the ‘Maizegate’ inquiry report.

The House did not conclude debate on a report presented by its join parliamentary committee on matters surrounding the procurement of maize from Zambia.

Parliament had a parallel investigations to those of Presidentical Commission of Inquiry.

The rising of the House without concluding debate on the maizegate report  after millions of kwacha were spent will annoy the tax payers.

Critics have argued that the parliamentary parallel inquiry was an unnecessary  burdent o the taxpayers.

Meanwhile, the House approved the revised 2016/17 national budget to K1.132 trillion down from K1.144 trillion

Tinanena ife kuti Parliamentary inquiries were simply allowance making machineries.
