Malawi Police arrest another quack doctor
The Blantyre Police is keeping in custody a man who they are yet to give out his particulars, for allegedly being found conducting in a manner that showed that he is a practicing doctor at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital.
An eye witness revealed that the man was caught Sunday in the Children (Orthopedic) Ward at the referral hospital bringing the number of fake arrested doctors to four, one at the Lilongwe Central Hospital.
While confirming of the arrest, Blantyre Police said they are not through with investigations and wold come back with particulars of the accused and any other related information.
Recently Blantyre Magistrate’s Court sentenced a bogus ‘Doctor Wongani Kumbukani Kandulu’ to six years Imprisonment with Hard Labour (IHL).
Another one, illegally using the name Dr Zizwani Mwafulirwa’s but his real name is John Ben Kamanga, was also given similar custodial sentence by the same court.
Both bogus doctors were arrested at Blantyre’s Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) where they were reportedly pretending to work as medical doctors.

It is better government must train these guys into full doctors as they all have shown hardworking amongst real and trained doctors. The problem is too much politics to select first enrollment to the college of medicine and healthy sciences.

JUST VISIT MWAIWATHU AND SEVENTH DAY HOSPITALS YOU WILL BE SHOCKED TO SEE DOCTORS ATTENDING TO YOU AS IF THEY ARE GOING TO GARDEN. SOMETIMES YOU EVEN WANT TO COME OUT OF THE ROOM SEEING HIM LIKE YOUR OWN HOUSEBOY LEFT AT HOME. REAL DOCTORS IN MALAWI LEFT FOR GREEN PASTURE ABROAD. IN CASE YOU MEET THE REAL DOCTOR IN THESE HOSPITALS MEANS THAT THEY ARE JUST STUDENTS WHO WILL TIME AGAIN KEEP ON REFERING TO DOCTOR’S MANUAL BOOK. THEY ALWAYS RUSH INTO TITLES, PROF, BLA,BLA BLA .

There is also anotherone in town who keeps on changing names from Charles Maliro to other names, he have been cheating pple especially women that he is a Doctor at Queens kids ward and very recently he have moved to Lilongwe (KCH) and he is cheating pple that he is a gynaecologist. THE PROBLEM WITH MOST OF OUR DOCTORS IN MALAWI HOSPITALS ATTEND TO PATIENTS IN CIVILIAN CLOTHING AND NO IDENTITY AT ALL. I WOUNDER WHY? ONLY STUDENTS ON TRAINING ARE THE ONES SEEN IN WHITE UNIFORM WHEN ATTENDING TO PATIENTS. MY QUESTION IS KODI MA DOCTORS ATHUWA NDI MABWANA KWAMBIRI KUTI ANADUTSA POVALA UNIFORM ON DUTY???????????? Real and professional doctors are the ones behind this scandlers because there’s no way for a fake doctor to be on a duty with munthu wosadziwika.there’s always duty loster attached to it

Licences are offered willy nilly to anyone mostly nurses ,pharmacists etc and many ordinary people cant distinguish between a trained doctor and anyone with white dust coat . Control private practice doctors that do not even qualify to open doctors rooms

The doctor usually goes to the patient with a nurse, it is to the nurse that the doctor shud show his ID. If the patient is very sick all you need is assistance and not an ID. So nurses must kno their doc on duty and then confirm on the duty roaster if he is the right one, if not tell him doc so-so is one on duty. That way bogus doc wont attempt their tricks.

How many medical doctors are real in Malawi? Even the so-called real medical doctors in hospitals don’t behave like real. They are all fake doctors either because they don’t papers or they don’t have commitment to work or they are busy in administrative positions. To me I trust clinical officer more than medical doctor. They work with commitment, dedication and they know they have to impress not our medical doctors who think they know it all.yet they have first degrees only and nothing all to show off to people apart from rude bdlehaviours. Patients don’t care whether they have degrees or not what they care is someone with passions and commitment to assist them which fake doctors do because they know they don’t have papers. I think medical doctors should start showing their IDs to patients before assisting them.fake medical doctors….

These guys ask them properly.they must be un qualified doctors but hv enough knowledge with the work. Hw can one just go into the corridors of hospital and do something he doesn’t know
Send him to College of Medicine that he shd learn to become a real doctor.But you should employ him at the end.
What do u expect when Malawi is failing to employ the highly Educated health personel?Are those 13 laboratory personel from COM nw employed.
