Malawi Police nab herbalist for sexual abuse of two women in Zomba

Malawi Police in Zomba are keeping in custody a 32 year old man, Jackson Simoko for being suspected to have raped and indecently assaulted two women aged between 20 and 23.

According to Police, on Friday the two women visited Simoko, herbalist based at six miles in order to obtain some charms to help them get married quickly.

Zomba Police Publicist, Sergeant Patricia Sipiliano said the suspect told the two women that if they wanted their problem to end he had to apply a charm in their private parts and the two willingly agreed.

Then the suspect is said to have invited the women one by one into a small hut where he raped them supposedly as a way of applying the charm.

The first victim was raped while the second one claimed that she was indecently assaulted by the herbalist.

Later on, the victims went to the toilet where the first one revealed to her friend that she was raped by the herbalist.

The two reported the matter to Zomba Police Station and Jackson was apprehended where he insisted to have had an affair with them.

Jackson Simoko who is expected to appear before court soon, hails from Kumbewe village, Traditional Authority Chikowi in the same district.
