Malawi prepares for major gospel crusade as Togolese preacher promises ‘wonders’

Speaking to journalists in Lilongwe on Tuesday, local church leader Bishop Phillip Mulinde revealed the main crusade would take place at Chilimampunga Ground in Mtsiliza, where attendees can expect preaching, healings, deliverance sessions and what organisers have described as miraculous wonders.

The crusade will be held under the theme ‘Come Unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest,’ drawn from Matthew 11:28, with Mulinde expressing confidence in the transformative power of the gathering.

‘We believe that many lives will be transformed through the gospel which will be shared there,’ he said.

Beyond the main crusade itself, Mulinde outlined a busy schedule of additional events surrounding Dodji’s visit, including a dedicated teaching and prayer programme with students at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences on 14 August, followed by a separate conference specifically for religious leaders at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC).

Dodji, the founder of the Jesus is the Solution Prayer Camp, brings with him significant international experience, having previously conducted ministry work across numerous African nations, as well as in France and the United States.

His visit adds to a busy calendar of high-profile religious and motivational events set to take place in Maĺawi this month, underlining the continued prominence of prosperity-focused and evangelical ministries across the country’s religious landscape.
