Malawi Pres. Banda meets Duke of York

Malawi President Joyce Banda in her on going official visit to the United Kingdom on Wednesday visited Buckingham Palace for a courtesy call on His Royal Highness The Duke of York.

According to State House Press Officer, Tusekele Mwanyongo, the discussions centred on Malawi-UK relationship.

She also had a meeting with Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, William Hague MP to continue on the general issues raised with the British Prime Minister  David Cameron during the  meeting at the No. 10 Downing Street for bilateral talks.

Banda started her visit to UK last Sunday when she  joined thousands of people in commemorating the 200th birthday of Scottish missionary Dr David Livingstone.

She also addressed the Scottish Parliament. During her tour, aid and investment deals between Malawi and Scotland were also agreed upon.
