Malawi will be featuring in their fifth world cup debuting in 1995 and only missing the 2003 world cup. Its highest finish was in 2007 in Auckland where they came fifth.

The queens  who are famous for their style of celebration by performing “press ups” on court will face South Africa on the opening day of the competition at 12:50pm local time, or 4:50am Malawi time on 7th August.

This game will determine who will top the group.

The following day on Saturday 8th August, Malawi play Sri Lanka at 7:20pm local time and the final group game against Singapore will be played on Sunday 9th August at 6:20pm local time.

It is expected Malawi and South Africa will top Pool C and qualify for the next round where they are expected to play the likes of New Zealand, Australia, Jamaica and England.

If Malawi finish top of Pool C they will play in Pool E, while if they finish as runners-up they will play in Pool F. The opponents in these pools will not be known until the end of the preliminary rounds.

Play-off matches and semi-finals will be played on Saturday 15th August.

the Minister is not saying anything about the standoff between the stupid Chinunda and our beautiful girls Linda and Mwai. Chinunda must park and go we can lose her but not the cream that does the donkey work on the pitch. in the name of our Lord Jesus, chinunda and your devils, leave Queens alone. be ashamed of your unpleasant looks………..

Clean your house first before we get ashamed again. Why are you failing to sort the issue of allowances which is very straight forward? Khalani ndiumunthu chonde, anawa amadalira zomwezi.

Queens sort yourselvea out before you even start training. We dont want to hear amatuerish excuse like most African teams do. NAM pay the players their overdue allowances, Chinunda should step aside, Mwawi Kumwenda and Linda Magombo should be back.
