Malawi Queens lose 43-39 to New Zealand in friendly
Malawi national netball team on Thursday suffered a defeat in their streght testing match ahead of the World Fast5 Netball Series in Australia when they lost 43-39 baskets against New Zealand.
Shining shooter Joyce Mvula was very outstanding almost in every qurter as she managed to use her individual skills and height to give New Zealand defenders tough time.
Mvula scored more baskets in each quarter for Malawi but it wasn’t enough to help the Queens to have a victory over New Zealand side whose majority of the players are very taller, experienced and skillful than Malawi.
Malawi is expected to meet with the World second placed netball ranking New Zealand in a competition match in their fourth fixture scheduled for Sunday October 29.
The Queens first game in Melbourne is against the host Australia on October 28 where they will clash in the opening match of the 2017 World Fast5 competitio before they face England, Jamaica and South Africa on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
