Malawi registers 180 Christmas babies – Ministry of Health

As Christians were celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ on Sunday 25 December, Christmas day, at least 180 babies were born nationwide, Ministry of Health  has said.

Liviness Banda, 19, with her baby boy at two days old, outside their home in Chileta village.

Ministry of Health spokesman Adrian Chikumbe said Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre recorded 26 babies born on Christmas. They were 13 boys and 13 girls.

According to information seen by Nyasa Times one of the babies born at the main referral centre in the southern region was named Christmas.

At Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe, there were 12 babies born on Christmas Day this year.

In the North Malawi, 63 babies were recorded .

It is reported a baby  weighing 2.95 kg and 52cm in length was named ‘Trump’ in Karonga.

A set of twins, one boy and one girl, were reportedly born  in the north.

180 babies for what. The next thing you gonna start complaining that the government is not giving you napkins for your kids. Malawians stop having kids left and right. legalize abortions.
