Malawi star Gabadinho hits a brace as Bidvest thump Ajax 5-0
Malawi international striker Gabadinho Mhango came off the bench to score two goals as his South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) Club Bidvest Wits thump Ajax Cape Town 5-0 on Tuesday night at the Bidvest Stadium.
Bidvest looked dangerous from the word go despite the visitors being the first to have a shot on target.
The home side opened the score sheet in the 20th minute through Phakamani Mahlambi through a header before Thulani Hlatswayo netted the second.
The Wits University Students continued to shine and breathe fire when Malawi international Mhango who stole the show when he came in as a substitute to score two brilliant goals.
His first goal came in the 59th minute when he capitalised on a defensive blunder by an Ajax defender to easily tap the ball into the
net.
He registered his name again on the score sheet in the 78th minute.
Mhango now has brough his number of league goals to five but is trailling with six goals from the leading scorer Tendai Ndoro of
Orlando Pirates.
Bidvest 5-0 win over Ajax moves them to top of the log table ahead of SuperSport who face Golden Arrows Wednesday.
PSL returned to action Tuesday after six weeks due to the just ended African Cup of Nations finals which Cameroon won after beating Egypt 2-1.
