According to South Africa’s top sports online publication, Soccer Laduma, Gabadinho was scheduled to undergo a medical on Wednesday but the process was out on hold.

The publication stated that the Malawian striker, who was marked to undergo the trials up to July 31, has impressed the technical panel at Amazulu.

“Amazulu are expected to conclude a deal with Hellings Mhango in the next few hours. The Malawian has been part of the club’s pre-season training for the past few days,” states the report.

“The 20-year-old has impressed the technical panel at Usuthu during his trials at KZN with the club’s team manager Japhet Zwane confirming that the striker is scheduled for a medical before concluding his imminent deal.”

It said Mhango will join Bret Amidu, Sydney Urikhob and Mohammed-Awal Issa for list of new players signed ahead of the new season.

Former Flames captain Patrick Mabedi is facilitating the trials.

His club Bullets advised him to sideline the national team camp in preparations for July 6 Independence game against Mozambique and Cosafa Castle Cup .

The diminutive striker has become a red hot forward this season at both club and national team

His absence in the national team’s assignments against Namibia in the Wolrd Cup qualifier was greatly felt which forced the coach to recall him for the Kenya game in the same competition.
