Malawi striker Tabitha hits 24th goal in Sweden top league

Malawian women’s footbal star striker Tabitha Chawinga has taken this season’s goal tally to 24 in Sweden women’s football top league but the goal fell short of helping her Karnsveden avoid a 3-1 loss to second placed Rosengard.

Tabitha: Goal scoring star

According to Goal.com the Malawian star striker’s goal has opened unprecedented 11-goal cushion on the top scorer chart.

Kvarnsveden failed to take home ground advantage as the visitors started on a brighter note with Ebba Wieder scoring the first goal in the 29th minute.

Wieder completed her brace just four minutes before half time recess to take her team to two goals in the lead.

But Chawinga’s team reorganised to keep the visitors at bay until the 71st when Sanne Troelsgaard made it 3-0 for the Malin Levinstad ladies outfit.

But the Malawian ghosted in to score the face with three minutes to full time for her 24 goals in 21 appearances.

The former DD Sunshine player has work to do as her team face relegation battle in their last game against Kristiansand on November 12.

Chawinga has also been nominated for two awards most valuable player and best forward in Sweden top league.
