Malawi struggle at Zimbabwe Junior Golf tournament
Malawi junior national team, participating in All Africa Junior Golf Challenge taking place in Harare is struggling standing at position 9 out of 12 countries taking part in the tournament after two days.
Defending champions South Africa is leading seconded by host Zimbabwe followed by Reunion Island, Morocco, Zambia , Kenya , Tunisia , Malawi, Namibia, Mauritius , Botswana as the tournament draws to an end.
Malawi is represented by Aadil Parker, Christopher Mzokomera, Ganizani Lusho, Rashid Salima, with Dingaan Chirwa as coach, team manager and leader of deligation is Hudson Kantwanje who is also the vice president of golf union of Malawi
Malawi finished on position 9 in last year’s tournament held in Tunisia and next year’s competition will be in Morroco.
Kantwanje said this year’s tournament saw inaugural ladies category for the competition, which is also used as a qualifier for World Junior Golf Challenge to take place in June 2017 in 2017.
e said the first top two teams in the boys category would qualify while girls and be the first top team only.
There are only there four countries that has put up girls teams and South Africa is leading so far and girls teams are South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Kenya.
