Malawi Telecom Limited Company renewed its sponsorship deal MTL Queens on Thursday following the company’s K8 million sponsorship for one year to the netball giant which was presented in
the commercial city of Malawi, Blantyre.

MTL acting Chief Commercial Officer Zaine Bwanali described their relationship with MTL Queens as cordial and that they are satisfied with the team’s performance for the past seasons.

Bwanali also hinted that they would continue bankrolling one of the oldest netball giants at the end of the season.

“It pleased MTL to continue sponsoring MTL Queens because we are proud to be associated with the team. We are also aware that our team contributes a bulk of players to Malawi Queens so indirectly we are also sponsoring national team,” he said.

MTL Queens contributes seven players to Malawi Queens in the likes of Joana Kachilika and Thandiwe Galeta.

In her remarks, MTL Queens team manager Anne Kapatuka hailed the company for continuing sponsoring them at the time most companies are shunning away from sponsoring teams.

“Let me assure that we will use this sponsorship for an intended purpose so that at the end of the day we bring results. This soccer season we are aiming at clinching cups and the League with the
youthful squad which we have blended with old guards,” said Kapatuka.

“We have agreed with MTL that we should open a shop and be selling some of their products, earn some money and save as plan B. All along, we have been doing this, but on a small scale. Now we want to go big to ensure our financial stability,” she said.

MTL Company has been sponsoring MTL Queens for ten years.
