Malawi Veep attend Passover Prayers at St.Patricks Catholic Church: Asks Christians to renew their faith

The Vice President Right Khumbo Kachali on Thusrday night attended a Passover Commemoration Mass at St Patricks Catholic Church in Area 18, Lilongwe.

The Vice President was welcomed at the Church by Parish Priest Fr John Makola, First Vice Chairperson for the Parish Executive Mrs Eva Chafulumira, Chairman of the Liturgy Mr Rodrick Banda and a Member of Liturgy Mr Soulosi Chilima.

The Vice Presidents Press Office says he attended the prayers as part of “fellowship with all Christains all over the world in commemorating the foundations of their faith.”

“The Vice President is appealing to all Christians during this period to renew their faith and put into practice the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ by preaching love and forgiveness, unity and equity and more importantly reaching out to those in need, facing food shortages, the sick, those affected by disasters and those in prison that we can all share the joy of the love of Jesus Christ during this Holy Easter,” said Special Assistant to the Vice President for Press, Kondwani Munthali.

During the mass which was celebrated from the book of Exodus , Fr Makola washed feet of 12 members of the Church and implored Christians to share with all those that are less privilaged or in need and those that they interact with everyday to reflect the love and will of God.

“Jesus humbled himself to wash the feet of his apostles, we ca humble ourselves before God and work for every human being to have a better and comfortable life,”  said Fr Makola.
