Malawian entrepreneur wins 2013 global award
One of Malawi’s most successful entrepreneurs, Chancy Mopho Jere, has won second position in global best business award in the 2013 Black Business Achievers.
The United States of America (USA) based Malawian, who owns Robert Brown Consulting Group (RBCG) (www.rbcg.co.uk) and IT Genie (www.itgeniegroup.com), came second out of 600 nominated business gurus.
The announcement and prize presentation took place on September 28 during a glamorous awards’ gala held in Nottingham, United Kingdom (UK).
Speaking after receiving his award, Mopho Jere bemoaned the country’s rampant corruption saying he would have loved to channel his money home and do what he does but he is pulled back because of the rampant corruption.
The entrepreneur, who operates his two businesses in UK and USA, also said he felt honoured that people were recognising his contributions to society through his two firms.
“I love working with people and I hope that my work touches and changes lives…I wish I could be doing this in my home country [Malawi] but unfortunately the environment is not conducive. Corruption has taken over from the top to bottom,” he told the audience.
The awardees are nominated from a pool of black business people who run small or large companies in Nottingham (UK) but also who, their community, believes act as a positive role model to other black people.
RBCG comprise a group of consultants focusing on serving the comprehensive needs of businesses in the full range of the business cycle.
It has a core staff of experienced professionals and a team approach to most consulting projects with each consultant specialising in particular discipline, including finance, sales and marketing, information technology, energy, logistics, supply chain, warehouse, manufacturing, accounting, operations, event planning and human resources development.
While IT Genie Group is an incorporation of different companies focusing on different areas of web services such as web promotions, website design, website content writing as well as promotion copy writer.
