Malawian man nabbed for sexual assault on own daughter
Police in Malawi’s eastern district of Balaka are keeping in custody a 42-year-old man for allegedly defiling his biological 14-year-old daughter.
Balaka Police spokesperson Sub-Inspector Joseph Sauka says the suspect, John Douglas (42) has been defiling her own 14 year old biological daughter who is in Standard 5 since June 2013 and threatened to take undisclosed action if she reveals to anyone.
“Since then, the suspect had been defiling the girl until last week when the girl revealed the issue to her aunt after being defiled in the bush where they went to fetch firewood. They then reported the matter to Police who arrested the suspect,” says Sauka.
He says upon being asked the suspect John Douglas accepted to have been defiling his daughter and said that this happened because the victim was seducing him and that his wife had a month old baby.
Medical report from Balaka District hospital revealed that the girl was really defiled and is pregnant for two months. The suspect is expected to appear before court soon where he will answer the case of incest contrary to section 157 of the Penal code.
The suspect, John Douglas has been in marriage with the victim’s mother for 15 years and have seven children.
He comes from Saiwa village, Traditional Authority Nsamala in Balaka district.
In a related development, a 28 year old father of three is in Police custody at Balaka Police for allegedly defiling her 14 year old step daughter.
The suspect, Henry Mafupa 28 had been defiling her 14-year-old step daughter since June 2013 and was threatening to chase her out of the house if she reveals the issue to anyone.
Then last week, the suspect defiled her after her mother went to attend a funeral ceremony and this annoyed her and reported the matter to her mother who in turn took the matter to Police who arrested the suspect.
Upon being asked the suspect accepted to have been defiling the victim and said the victim was seducing him and openly told him to make love with him a thing he could not resist considering that his wife had a one month old child.
Medical report from Balaka District Hospital revealed that the victim was really defiled and is two moths old pregnant.
The suspect, Henry Mafupa comes from Fulaye village, Traditional Authority Nsamala in Balaka district and has been in marriage with the victim’s mother for 5 years and is expected to appear before court soon where he will answer the case of defilement contrary to section 138 of the Penal code.
