Malawian women set for spiritual and professional empowerment as Victorious Ladies Conference returns to Blantyre

Fountain of Victory Church is preparing to host its highly anticipated Victorious Ladies Conference (VLC) in Blantyre from 27 to 29 August, with organisers pledging to empower women spiritually and professionally at the annual gathering.

Now in its 12th year, the conference is open to women of all ages, backgrounds and denominations, according to Fountain of Victory Global Women’s Director Pastor Misozi Banda, who says the event has become a powerful platform for personal transformation.

The vision behind the conference, originally birthed by Apostle Joseph Ziba, centres on helping women discover their identity in Christ while unlocking their full potential across business, careers, family life, education and ministry.

“This is a spiritual platform where women will be empowered to know who they are and also to be acquainted with the grace of God,” Banda said.

As part of this year’s line-up, the conference will feature VLC Elevate on Thursday — a dedicated session aimed specifically at women navigating the corporate world, reflecting organisers’ continued push to blend spiritual growth with practical career development.

Banda revealed the conference has already produced a string of powerful testimonies over the years, with participants going on to further their education, secure promotions and build successful professional careers after attending.

Drawing inspiration from recent national success stories, Banda pointed to Malawi’s national women’s football team, the Scorchers, as proof of what women can achieve when given the right opportunities and support.

Beyond the professional empowerment angle, organisers say the conference remains firmly rooted in its spiritual mission, with participants also given the opportunity to deepen their relationship with God and accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour throughout the three-day event.
