Malawi’s leading female actress,Flora Suya’s dreams to go to United States of America finally have been fulfilled after Lilongwe City Centre Member of Parliament, David Bisnowaty has come to her rescue by buying her air ticket to attend film festival in California.

Suya, who with her latest production,My Mother’s Story movie ,was nominated  as one of the African movies to be premiered at the Silicon Valley Film festival in California and is also among those to be competited as the best film in Africa sent an SOS to well wishers to help her raise for funds to buy air ticket to travel to USA.

Speaking at his house in Lilongwe’s Presidential Villa compound, Parliamentarian Bisnowaty told the media that it’s high time Malawi must start appreciating arts industry and come to support the artists as the country has a lot of talent.

Bisnowaty said he thought of helping Suya after noticing the talent in Suya’s movie which he also said the story in it represents not only Malawi’s issues but indeed Africa’s true story on most countries.

“I first watched her film during the premiere of the film early this year and I must confess I fell in love with it, the story in it truly represents what is happening not only here in Malawi but in African countries. When I heard that the film has been nominated in USA, I wasn’t surprised because I knew the film has talents, which can’t go without being noticed.

“Its high time as a country we start appreciating and promote arts industry to the world, Malawi has got talent and Flora is one of them, if we join hands and promote these artists truly we can put the country on map with good news not of killing people with albinism”, Bisnowaty said.

He said if all joins hands Malawi can have its own Malawi got talent shows and promote the local artists in international world calling Flora Suya’s nomination as a breakthrough to her and Malawi as whole as she will sale the country to the world’s best known actors and producers.

In her remarks, Suya was short of words and she couldn’t speak more than praising God and thanking Bisnowaty for the air ticket which she said she was about to give up.

Everything  in USA is paid for by the organisers.

Suya is expected to leave the country through Chileka International Airport on Thursday and will arrive in USA on Friday 4:52pm.

The Silicon valley film festival starts on Friday evening up to Sunday 17th October .

MC when asking for donations to be contributed for air ticket, it doesn’t mean she has no money. How did she managed to shoot that wonderful movie which has been nominated at USA? Making a Film requires a lot of money and maybe she is preparing for another movie, who knows? If you are rich and she is poor then assist her than zomaonesa kuti muli ndi ndalama ena ndi osauka.
