Mzika, who officiated at Fifa women’s World Cup last year in Canada and this year’s Olympic Games, is among the 47 top referees selected for the course from all African countries.

She is expected to leave on Sunday for the Cameroon capital, Yaounde where the course will take place.

The soft spoken former athlete was overwhelming with joy with the development.

“Iam happy that I have been picked for the elite course, the only one from Malawi,” she said.

“This just shows that Confederation of African Football have confidence in my performance during games.”

During her first Elite course she attended in Egypt she was the most outstanding participant.
