Malawi’s star striker Gabadinho Mhango exorcised the ghosts on Wednesday to inspire his team Bloemfontein Celtic to 2-0 victory over Mpumalanga Black Aces by scoring both goals.
Gabadinho scored his goal in the 61st minute and completed a brace in the 89th minute to prove his critics wrong after a troubled season which has seen him struggling to break into the starting line-up.
According to KickOff Mhango’s brace marked coach Clinton Larsen’s return to the Bloemfontein Celtic hotseat with a 2-0.
Mhango bagged a second-half brace to claim the spoils at Mbombela Stadium.
The win sees Celtic up to 10th place on the log with 20 points, while Aces dropped to eighth with 21 points.
Celtic offered very little in terms of attack in the first half and were completely outplayed by the home side.
The second half was a completely different affair and saw Celtic turn the tide.
Aces tried to fight back, but they struggled to break down a stubborn Celtic defence.
