Found dead : Seemingly drunk

His body was taken to Kamuzu Central Hospital for Post-mortem.

Eye witnesses told Nyasa Times that Chilongosi, who hails from Chipezeyani Village, Traditional Authority Kwataine in Ntcheu said he was with his friend coming from Mchesi on their way to Kawale 1 where the deceased was staying.

“Instead of crossing the bridge near Share World Private Secondary School they decided to use the way where there is no bridge without knowing that the River was flooded following heavy rains of Saturday,” he said.

The man who was with the deceased is at large after being beaten by the angry bob because of his awkward encouragement.

The deceased seemed drunk, according to eye witness.

The brother in-law of the deceased, Baxton Kalinde Phiri said: “We are greatly shocked with the untimely death of our beloved one because he was the breadwinner of the family.”

The deceased was a trader.

Police has advised the public to be vigilant when it rains, not to cross Rivers that has no Bridge for their own safety to avoid such deaths.
