The police spokesperson explained that the client had a goitre problem and came at the clinic for medical help.

“The suspect (Jailosi) is alleged to have carried out a surgical operation on the neck of his client (Amina Ayisa) who unfortunately bled profusely before dying a few minutes later due to loss of blood,” Nyaude said.

He said, worse still, the suspect was operating the clinic without proper documentation and medical equipment to administer such an operation.

Inspector Nyaude added that upon being alerted of the ordeal, relatives of the deceased took the body back to their home in Salima for burial without the knowledge of the police.

He said meanwhile, police are in the process of investigating the matter with the medical experts to establish the cause of death after exhuming the body for a post-mortem.
