Maranatha Academy unveils K50 million sponsorship boost for MBC’s popular Zokonda Amai programme

Maranatha Academy has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Malawi Broadcasting Corporation’s (MBC) popular Zokonda Amai programme, unveiling a fresh K50 million partnership for this year’s edition.

The announcement was made by the school’s director, Ernest Kaonga, during a ceremony held at MBC’s Broadcasting House in Chichiri, Blantyre.

Kaonga revealed that Maranatha Academy’s four-year partnership with the programme had delivered significant benefits for both institutions, crediting the collaboration for the school’s continued growth.

“As an institution, we have grown a lot and that can be attributed to such types of partnerships. That is why we keep coming back to support this programme because we share the values it stands for, and the objectives it aims to achieve,” Kaonga said.

MBC acting director general Moses Chiwoni welcomed the sponsorship, insisting it represented far more than simple financial backing for a radio and television programme, describing it instead as a genuine investment in women and families across Malawi.

Chiwoni praised Maranatha Academy for its continued support of a platform that gives women space to share their experiences, learn from one another and find inspiration to pursue their ambitions.

“As a national broadcaster, we recognise that it is our responsibility to use platforms such as Zokonda Amai to promote development, provide credible information, entertain and create opportunities for meaningful public engagement,” Chiwoni said.
