MBC ‘Entertainers of the Year’ is back
Malawi Broadcasting Corporation’s Entertainers of the Year award ceremony will be back this year, the national broadcaster’s boss Dr Benson Tembo has disclosed.
Tembo speaking at the Staff Excellence award ceremony conducted at Chichiri Broadcasting House announced that the awards shall include votes from the audience.
“Entertainers of the Year is back,” he declared.
MBC has also unveiled its re-branded colours, logo and motto-‘ Inspiring the nation’.
Chairman of the Board of Directors Evans Namanja in his speech encouraged the national broadcaster to continue entertaining the public and be informative, saying “the energies invested in this re-branding process be reciprocated in your out-put, in the way you deliver programs and news to the listeners and viewers.”
He reminded MBC staff to perform their duties mindful of MBC role as a public broadcaster.
“Your desire and actions should always be to serve Malawians regardless of any categorization,” the Chairman emphasized.
One of the awardees on the day was Hassan Goba of Radio Newsroom who was voted ‘Newsreader of the Year.’
