The World Bank already gave Malawi $20million to connect Fibre Backbone from Lilongwe to Tanzania through Mzuzu in 2011 and the project started in 2013 implemented by a Tanzanian company called Simbanet. Check if this money was embezzled or not used properly, otherwise by now we were supposed to have good internet cover. MTL has Fibre country wide which can easily connected at any District, the choice of ESCOM is questionable because there are some places where ESCOM fibre is not available hence some districts will still be lagging behind.
Am for MJ and my take is: Mzuzu must be connected…..full stop

This country we call Malawi is full of very stupid/crazy people. Why cant we do the right things for once??? We have the Optic Fiber cable running from Tanzania all the way to Lilongwe, We have another coming through from Zambia to Lilongwe’s Virtual landing point at capital hill. The normal thing to do is to ensure that all the districts along the route are connected to the fiber once and for all. I know Karonga, Mchinji are connected.
