Nyamilandu: New venue for Blantyre teams, MDC Stadium

FAM wants to turn the stadium into a soccer academy but Nyamilandu said Super League clubs will still be allowed to use it following the closure of Kamuzu Stadium which is also under renovations.

“The stadium will be reopened next month and as you are already aware that Kamuzu is closed atleast teams from Blantyre need another ground,” said Nyamilandu.

Meanwhile,  the FAM president has also revealed that Chiwembe technical centre where local national teams do the camping will now wear an artificial turf with support from the world soccer governing body FIFA.

“Our aim is to make sure that we have everything at Chiwembe and one of the important things is the artificial turf. We have already discussed with Fifa and they have agreed to help us with the turf,” said Nyamilandu.
