A meeting of giants as Lilongwe hosts Msangulutso wa Alakatuli: Gule Wankulu to add colour

Lilongwe will this Sunday host a meeting of giants in Chichewa poetry with Msangulutso wa Alakatuli to be held at the famous M1 Center Point.

The show which has been organised by Chia Productions will see the current hots shots in the industry like Nyamalikiti Nthiwatiwa, Joseph Madzedze and Raphael Sitima entertaining patrons with Gule Wamkulu spicing up the the occasion.

According to Chia Productions’ Chiyambi Mazengera, the show which is expected to start at 1pm will be the first of its kind as it will take patrons through entertaining moments from the start to the end.

He said apart from poetry, there will also be live music performances by Innocent Chitimbe of ‘Chikondichi ndi cha mai fame and DJ Mwanza from Zambia.

“We want this event to be a family show, where people of all different walks of like can come together and entertain together. We want everyone to have something to enjoy.

“People will also taste local comedians Mr Malawi, Aunt Geti and Atcheya who are famous in mimicking former Malawi presidents late Professor Bingu wa Mutharika, Dr Joyce Banda and Dr Bakili Muluzi respectively,” Said Mazengela.

Others to perform include Wantali Savala Gogoda, Mr India, Samuel Joseph, Hudson and Chamasowa.

Mazengela said there will also be an after show free DJ competition to be held at Area 25 Center Point where Katswiri Glevazio Mota, Uzzi Fresh, DJ Mwanza and DJ Fresh running the disks.

Advanced tickets are being sold at Globe Star, Kafoteka Filling Station and Center Point at K1000 while at the gate will be at K1500.

The show is being sponsored by Imbiza Multipurpose Herb, CHROMA Properties and Bicco International among others.
