Organisers of the competition have confirmed to Nyasa Times that the final audition will start at 9:00am and is expected to end at 12:30pm.

Chairperson of the Miss Blantyre pageant Daniel Ngwira said they are targeting to identify girls who have good qualities of modelling who also posses a minimum of Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) going up with ages from 18-26 years-old.

Ngwira said the main purpose of the event is to give opportunity to the Blantyre based girls who have the potential or capability of
competing in the highest level of modelling to realise their goals and learn how they can help in uplifting fellow girls.

About 20 girls took part in the first auditions but only 9 were selected.

According to Ngwira they are targeting to have 15 girls who will compete in the last final of this years competition.

“This year we are very much encouraged with the turn out number and the seriousness which the girls are showing, this gives us confidence that we’ll have a tough competition than before and surely our judges will also have a huge task,” said Ngwirwa.

Ngwira also revealed that venue for this year’s Miss Blatyre grand finale is not yet known but will be announced in the first week of
September when they finish talking to their prospective partners.

Hannah Mhoni is the current Miss Blantyre. Her first princes is Myrah Khoza while Chimwemwe Khembo is the second princes.
