Miss Malawi Ireland 2013 is lawyer Denise Zambezi

Twenty-five year old Denise Zambezi was on Saturday night crowned Miss Malawi Ireland 2013 at a colourful event  held at Maldron Hotel in Dublin .

The law graduate from University of Pretotia, who is studying for her Masters Degree in International Human Rights at University College Of Cork, has taken over the crown from Tina Maunde.

Shakira Juma was first princess and Memory Nyambo was second princess at the pageant.

The organisers said the Miss Malawi Ireland pageant aims to inspire its participants to become involved in fundraising for their communities rather than it just being a platform for launching modelling careers.

The show was  spiced up by the performance of Malawi’s popular reggae band, Black Missionaries.
