Miss Malawi, Munya deny being lovers

After acting together in ‘The Gentleman’ action film, Zimbabwe’s Big Brother representative Munyaradzi Chidzonga *Munya) and Malawi’s beauty goddess Faith Chibale have been spotted together too often such that tongues are wagging that they are more than just co-stars.

The sensational Weekend Timespublished on Friday reports that after all, most movie stars have a habit of starting fairytale romances after acting together like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie who fell head over heels while co-starring in the movie “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”.

And what with news that in the movie, the two do not just act but are in a relationship and they also kiss.

However, when interviewed by the tabloid ahead of the movie’s premiere at Robins Park in Blantyre on Saturday, the beauty queen clarified that the nature of their relationship does not go beyond acting together in a movie.

“We’re just co-stars in the same movie. And you say we kissed? Where did you get that? Have you watched the movie already? A lot of people are asking me the same question but we are just friends and there is nothing romantic between us apart from that,” Faith is quoted by the tabloid.

However, she admitted that she is fond of the Zimbabwean  and was very praising of him while insisting they were just “friends.”

“He is a nice guy and he introduced me to acting meaning that he has helped to unearth a talent that was hidden in me”.

On his part, Munya  also said they were just co-actors in the movie and that people should not take for granted what happens in the movie rather they should draw lessons from it.

Meanwhile, reports from Zimbabwe indicate that another Big Brother representative Vimbai Mutinhiri is struggling to find a boyfriend because men are too scared to ask her out.

The 24-year-old says the only attention she seems to be attracting is from fawning male fans.

“I don’t have a boyfriend, and I might not have one soon. Men in Zimbabwe don’t seem to approach me wanting a relationship, but they come as fans,” said Vimbai, who recently released a music single called ‘Summer Love’.

Vimbai, who excited Big Brother Africa in the penultimate week in July, says the M-Net show has re-energized her modeling career and opened doors for her.

But Vimbai, the daughter of Deputy Public Service Minister Tracy Mutinhiri, wishes men would be a little direct when asking her out.

“Ask me to go for coffee or something. I wouldn’t mind someone telling me straight up that they like me,” she told the entertainment site, zimbojam.com.

“What I have been getting is someone asks to take photo with, and the next thing I hear is: ‘can I please have your number?’ Some start asking me about my experiences in the [Big Brother house!”
