Missing 8-year-old girl found dead in a forest: Malawi Police probe her death

The search for a missing eight-year-old  who went missing at Khama in Machinjiri Township in Blantyre ended Wednesday when  her body was found in a forest near Ndirande Hill in the township.

According to family members and police,  the deceased, Felia Botha, a Standard Four learner at Mpata LEA School in the township, went missing last Saturday when she was playing with her friends.

The family filed a missing persons report on Saturday.

The deceased was found on Wednesdat by three men, who are moulding bricks near the hill, when she was  covered in banana leaves in a  discomposed state.

Limbe Police Station spokesperson Chifundo Kansunje said her cause of death remains under investigation.

In the first place may her soul rest in peace.I have learnt the death of the fore mentioned child with sadness,CIDs here is the job,bring the culprits to book,we want a secure malawi

This is absolutely barbaric. Why would someone kill a poor soul like this. She had her future lines up aheddx. I feel for the parents and relatives. May the good God comfort them during this bereavement time. Its had to sawallow. For the sons of the devil that did this, search your hearts and surrender urself to ease up the pain. U should be punished to the max. Its high time the death penalty was reinstated. Am very very angry with this. J

Its so sad indeed- She is so innocent- Parents please make sure that children are not left alone they should always be in the company of a guardian

Just looking at the pic of this little innocent soul my heart bleeds…..thinking what if this happened to my daughter, exactly the same could happen to my daughter if these criminals are not apprehended…we have to join hands because this is dangerous the police should mount a full manhunt, not kungoti we are probing…this is serious the killers are still at large and they are dangerous, they can do the same to another kid!!! Now that power is in vp’s hands, can Soulos show his abilities by getting to the bottom of this incident swiftly.
Let the culprits get incarcerated as soon as possible.
These primitive acts must end.
