Mlaka Maliro ready to bounce back with new album

One of Malawi’s celebrated musicians Macdonald Mlaka Maliro who is currently also serving God as a full time Evangelist has unveiled his plans to release a new album.

Mlaka: Evengalism full time

Mlaka Maliro revealed to in an exclusive interview with Nyasa Times that he will be going back to studio to record the yet to be titled album in March 2017.

The artist who has 11 albums to his credit said he will record the album with a Malawian Producer Eric Paliani.

“By March I will be in studio again and will be recording with Eric Paliani”, Pastor Mlaka Maliro told Nyasa times from his new base in South Africa.

He turned to God in 2011 when he also switched from playing secular music and ventured into playing gospel music.

He later become a full time Evangelist and launched his own Ministry known as Cross Life Ministries in Chilomoni Township in the Commercial City of Blantyre, Malawi.

“I was born again in 2011 and in 2012 is when I became a Pastor. It is now that many people know I am a Pastor just because I am having my Evangelism service every Friday’s at the Church where God is doing miraculous things.

“People are now talking about what they are seeing” Maliro was quoted as saying Malawi’s daily Nation Newspaper dated 19th May 2015.

He then admitted that his journey to Evangelism hasn’t been easy.

“The journey hasn’t been easy at all bearing in mind that we are in Malawi where people like to destroy what they have and call names what they don’t know.” added the Pastor.

This will be Mlaka Maliro’s third album since he switched from secular to gospel music.

His first gospel compilation was Hossana and the Am alive.

He is currently residing in South Africa where he joined Enlighted Christian Gathering (ECG) of  Malawian born but South African based Billionaire Prophet Shepherd Bushiri.

Mlaka came into limelight in late 1990’s after releasing one of the best albums ever on the local scene titled  ‘Dzanja Lalemba’ before releasing Maloto a year later among other albums that followed.

Mlaka Maliro a product of Zembani Music Company owned by music icon Lucius Banda.

He once formed his own band called ‘Maloto vibrations’.
