Mlaka show moved to downtown Manchester Sept 27
Organisers of a one-off concert for Malawi’s musician Mlaka Maliro have moved the show to downtown Manchester City Saturday September 27.
The show will be held from 7pm to 3am at 14 Newton Street – Post Code M1 2AF. The charges are £20.
“Mlaka will perform with a live band in Manchester. It’s a one-gig only for him,” said Kondi Bowoyeko Munthali.
The artist has been in Leeds rehearsing with a full strength band line up and dancers ready to deliver the old master class performances synonymous with Kamandidutsadutsa star.
Munthali said at the show, newly crowned Miss Malawi UK, Rose Mmangisa will also be in attendance as well as the finalists during the pageant.
Mlaka, arguably one of the top Malawian musicians, switched from secular music to gospel. But even in secular songs his tracks mostly were extracts from the scriptures.
He will perform most of his hit songs, including Dzanja Lalemba, Chikhwaya Chakumangochi, Maloto, and Mukandinenere.
The artist has however maintained the same beat that made Dzanja Lalemba a bestseller 14 years ago.
