Mother in-law pulled my private parts, Malawi police officer tells court

A general duties police officer at Mzimba police station Inspector Casam Mdeza stunned the Mzimba first grade court on Monday when he alleged that his mother in-law squeezed and pulled his private parts.

Mdeza was testifying in a case where he had dragged his mother in-law Martha Munthali and wife Kondwani Nyirongo to court.

The mother in law and wife have since been charged with two counts; assault occasioning actual bodily harm and malicious damage against sections 253 and 344 of the penal code respectively.

In his testimony, Mdeza said on 20 January, 2012 while washing his clothes at his Mabushi location, he was hit by a stone on the back of his head.justice

And as he tried to figure out what was happening, his wife Kondwani Nyirongo grabbed a stick and whipped him in the libs and legs.

Mdeza further said the wife then sat on him and tore his bare muscle shirt he was wearing.

”Then I saw my mother in-law Martha Munthali who, while I was down, with my wife sitting on me, slapped me twice and then pulled my shorts, pant and private parts together. I felt pain,” he said.

Laywer for the two accused persons, Ashimu Siadi quizzed Mdeza in cross examination on the events of 20 January insisting that Mdeza’s testimony was a cooked up story.

The matter has since been adjourned to Friday 15 March, 2013 for further hearing.

Casam Mdeza’s marriage to Kondwani Munthali hit the rocks early this year and the two are now living separately.
