Moyale go top after beating Karonga: Malawi TNM Super League
Moyale Barracks FC from Mzuzu moved to the top of the Malawi TNM Super League with a 2-1 win over over rookies Karonga United on Saturday.
Gastin Simkonda netted both goals for the Moyale soldiers in a match played at Mzuzu Stadium.
Moyale jumped to the top with 19 points from seven games.
They are followed by Big Bullets who rose to second position with 17 points after their win against Mighty Wanderers on Sunday in a Blantyre derby. The ‘People’s team’ has played seven games unbeaten.
In other games on Sunday, Mafco thumped Blantyre United, who edged Airborne Rangers 3-2 on Saturday, 3-0 with Kalista Kalinda, Richard Mbulu and Hassan Chapolas scorers.
Blessings Tembo’s sole goal earned defending champions Silver Strikers a 1-0 win over Blue Eagles.
On Saturday, Chikwawa United moved off the bottom after defeating Red Lions 1-0 through Ranken Mwale’s effort whereas Silver drew 0-0 with Civo United. Kamuzu Barracks and Epac drew 1-1 on Sunday.
