MP Maluwa hails govt for introducing Constituency Development Fund

Member of Parliament (MP) for Chikwawa West Kennedy Maluwa has hailed government for introducing Constituency Development Fund (CDF) saying the fund has transformed lives of people in his area.

MP Maluwa: There is development taking place

Maluwa made the remarks Sunday during the elevation ceremony of Group Village Headwoman Timbenao to Principal Group Village Headwoman in the area of Senior Chief Chapananga in the district.

He said through CDF, government is constructing a police unit, a rural library in the area and that plans are under way to construct a girls’ hostel at Kakokoma Community Day Secondary School.

“Government through donors will soon establish a rural growth centre in Chapananga and construct a multi-million kwacha bridge at Mwanza River,” Maluwa said.

He, therefore, urged chiefs in the area to support government of the day for development to continue forging ahead in the district and his area in particular.

He said GVH Timbenao was promoted because of working hard in development endeavors.

Senior Chief Chapananga, who presided over the elevation ceremony, urged fellow chiefs in the area to remain united for peace in the area to prevail.

“Let us be united and work together to develop our area. Development cannot be achieved when there are conflicts,” Chapananga said.
