MP Mzomera admits being political prostitute: Apologizes to Mutharika for dumping DPP after Bingu’s death

Controversial Member of Parliamentary (MP) for Mzimba Solola,  Rev Christopher Mzomera Ngwira on Thursday apologized to President Peter Mutharika and the governing  Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) members for betraying them after the death of the former president Bingu Wa Mutharika when he dumped the party to join the then ruling People’s Party (PP) in 2012.

Mzomera receiving DPP materials
Mzomera made the remarks during the official launch of Mzimba Integrated Urban Water and Sanitation project in Mzimba district presided by Mutharika.
In 2014 tripartite elections, Mzomera won the seat of MP under PP but was fired the party’s president Joyce Banda while in America because of insubordination
After being fired, Mzomera declared himself as an independent MP and then rejoined the DPP last month.
While saluting those who sticked with DPP after the death of Bingu wa Mutharika, Mzomera accepted his weakness.
For give me Mr President, I was deceived by PP and I didn’t know what I was doing. After hearing the PP slogan, I thought the party will take me to another level without knowing that it will end in exile in America),” said Mzomera.
Mzomera then told DPP members that he is a returnee int he party to strenthen it and not for any position.
“Don’t be afraid of me, I have not come to grab your position but to support you,” he added.
He also informed Mutharika that he has not rejoined the party alone but with thousands of his supporters.
In her remarks,  secretary general of DPP Jeffrey wa Jeffrey  asked all party members to welcome Mzomera and forget his past mistakes.
She said Mzomera decided to rejoin DPP because he knows that it is the only party that cares about the northern region.
According to the DPP secretary general, her party has grabbed all PP supporters in the north who were dumped by Joyce Banda.
